The Bee*tch is Back!

All righty then! I’ve finally released all of my frustration and negativity toward blogger and feel like I can do some blogging without wanting to pitch my coffee cup at my monitor. I was so irritated by the recent blog disappearance and Google Friends Connect problem, that I couldn’t even look at my laptop without growling or thinking mean thoughts about blogger.

Chilly suggested since I’ve been in a magical mood after seeing “Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince” that I shoot a spell at Blogger. He thinks I should use his personal favorite, “Wingardium Idiosa”….(It means “Fly Away, Idiots!”…yeah, he made that up all by himself….clever, isn’t he?)

I grabbed my cyber backpack last Friday and traveled the interwebs for days in search of answers as to why: A) My blog disappeared without warning last week….and B) Why Google Friend Connect is being such a loser.

Here’s what I discovered during my travels….

*There is NO easy way to connect with an actual human being where anything Google is concerned. Very, very frustrating…

*There is NO easy (or even difficult!) explanation on how to resolve this Friend Connect issue. So basically, all the blogs I followed in the past are no longer “permitting” me to re-join them. I guess I just have to hope that somehow this resolves itself on it’s own. I did receive more than 20 emails from fellow bloggers who are having the same experience, so at least I’m not a paranoid freak about it now.

*That I have the BEST bloggy friends around! Thank you for rallying around me!!!!!

So, I am back to regular blogging and will resume blogstalking tomorrow. We are in the midst of thunderstorms here today. After the Power Surge Computer Crash Suckfest of April 09, I don’t want to take any chances with my laptop during the lightning drama that is about to unfold here!

Again, thanks to all of you for the very kind emails and support! It means the world to me!

And remember…

BEE-fuddled and BEE-wildered! A Blessing and a Curse!

As you may know, I am experiencing some problems with Blogger…more specifically Google Friend Connect. Yesterday, my blog was removed by Blogger, and every blog that I follow lost me as a follower! I still have NO clue why this happened. Fortunately, I was alerted by the FaBuLoUs blueviolet that something was amiss…
Shortly after the heads up from blueviolet, I started receiving tons of worried emails from bloggy friends and family. Many were concerned that something (like death!) had happened to poor Chilly. Rest assured, Chilly is alive and well…(if he doesn’t start behaving, I don’t know how long that will last, but for now he has a pulse!) Shame on you, Google Friend Connect (close family relative to Blogger!) for causing such a panic for my loved ones!

The most amusing part of this nightmare is that once I realized what happened, I immediately tried to reconstruct my “blogilicious” list (blog roll). I’m still missing some, but am trying hard to figure it out. Once I had a good chunk of blogs, I went to each one and tried to re-follow. This is what I encountered….EVERY.STINKIN’.TIME…….(it doesn’t matter which browser I use…I’ve tried them all…)

In case you can’t read it, it says “We’re sorry, the site owner has blocked you from joining this site.”

Notice who I was trying to follow (just for grins and giggles) at that point…..Yeah, MYSELF! I couldn’t even join my own blog!
After hours of searching the interwebs for answers, all I could come up with is that Blogger / Google Friend Connect has been dealing with the issue over the last couple of months. (Remember the Great Lost Followers episode a few months back? Followers were droppin’ like flies from blogs all over Blog Land…that was all Blogger…)
I can’t seem to find any answers anywhere. Trust me…I spent HOURS in the help forum yesterday. If this has happened to any of you, I would be enormously grateful for any advice!

I tried to email as many bloggy friends as possible just to let them know I wasn’t jumping ship on their fabulous blogs! If I didn’t email you, it’s only because I had no contact information. If I follow your blog and it appears I’ve left, please know that I haven’t! I’m still here!!! I’m going to try over the weekend to spread my comment lovin’ to continue in my quest to leave no blog behind!

The blessing in all of this is the overwhelming outpouring of support and concern from everyone! Wow! I am truly humbled by all of the bloggy love sent my way over the last couple of days! I am so grateful and want to thank all of you for the kind words! Chilly says “thanks” too! It meant alot to him that so many were concerned for his well being.
In the words of Chilly “We ask that you bear with us during this transition…” (although he uses this strictly to get out of trouble…)

I will be out of the Land of Blog and visiting the Land of Nod today. I spent most of yesterday afternoon and a HUGE chunk of my night (till 4 am!) trying to sort this out. I am in need of a nap and a wee bloggy break. I will return over the weekend:)

Thanks again….you are all freakin’ fabulous!!

Thankful Thursday…Memory Loss Edition

Yesterday, while driving to Irish dance, my mind was zipping through my list of 45 million things to do when all of a sudden, I started thinking about how nice it would be to have a butler ….which then made me think of this guy…(weird, I realize, but my mind is filled with lots of weirdness these days)

Yes, that would be Mr. French….the world’s first tv “manny”. Back in the day he was called a butler, but seriously, he was all “manny.” (Which would you prefer…a manny or a nanny?)

I thought it would be so lovely to be greeted upon arriving home by my butler…”May I assist you with the 25 gazillion items that need to be brought in from the car, Madam?”….”Here are your keys, Madam”…(that alone, would be worth the six figure salary he asked for when I hired him…)….”How about a glass of tea, Madam?” Then he would whip up a fabulous meal while I relaxed with my tea. Sigh…..

Then, being the mind wanderer that I am, I tried to remember the theme song to “Family Affair”. I couldn’t remember it! It drove me nuts for the rest of the day! Friends would talk with me and all the while, my mind is trying to grab at any little memory of that dumb song! I would nod politely and say “uh-huh”, “why, of course”and so on while my friends chatted happily about their summer plans, but inside my mind I was having a complete nervous breakdown because I could not remember that dumb song! It was almost as traumatizing as the time I couldn’t remember that dumb arcade game, Tempest…That worked on me for weeks…I forgot about Google back then…Stupid menopausal brain fade!

So, I did what any old person like me would do when having memory issues…I googled Mr. French (not in a creepy way…tsk tsk…minds out of the gutter, please..) Still nothing….Then I remembered YouTube…and VOILA! There it was! I felt an enormous weight being lifted from my shoulders! (Here’s a link in case you don’t remember it either….) So on this Thankful Thursday, I am thankful for YouTube. YouTube, I love ya….

I am also thankful for Heather aka Mrs. Southern Bride (who is the cutest thing around!) for sharing the Honest Scrap Award with me! I love reading her blog! Pop over and say hello! You’ll adore her too! Thank you, Heather, for sharing this with me!

Since I’ve shared many scraps with you before, I will drop this Honest Scrap bombshell on you today….

I love, love, love the song “Dragula” by Rob Zombie. I drive my kids bananas singing that song…Did that freak you out?…It certainly freaks out my kids!

Also, I have a HUGE crush on this guy…

Swoon….I love Jack…

Have a Happy Thursday!

Thankful Thursday: A Gentle Reminder (or a brick upside the head…)

Today we are a wee bit sensitive at the Bee and Rose….you can all send your thanks to Chilly for that….(for those of you just joining our regularly scheduled programming, Chilly would be my hubster…)

You see, Tuesday evening, the Chillmeister decided to interrupt my practically perfect pity party with news that he was bringing home the DVD “Seven Pounds” starring Will Smith. As he delivered this bombshell, I was in the midst of a series of “Why Me’s”, “What Do You Want From Me’s” and other assorted mental suckage issues with God. I find it ironic that shortly after I issued my invite to the Heavens to my pity party, Chilly calls about the DVD. Mind you, he is really proud of himself because he feels he has “listened” to me during casual conversation where I mentioned once that I would like to see that movie. So he calls, and says “I have a surprise for you…yada, yada, yada” and I reply “Whatev” and get back to the pity party. (I think God used Chilly as His messenger to me, because not only did he bring home the movie, but picked up dinner too! Now I am totally suspicious…I feel an emotional conspiracy going on here….)

Fast forward to after the movie….I now understand why this movie is titled “Seven Pounds”….because you need seven pounds of Kleenex while watching it!

Will Smith is absolutely outstanding in this movie! As we are a family potentially dealing with the same issues shown in the film, we were deeply moved by this inspiring (albeit very emotionally charged) story. I don’t want to give any plot details away, but I will say it is a film that will sit with you emotionally long after you’ve seen it.

It is a heartfelt, and at times, soul wrenching story that touched my soul in so many ways. Ironically, it completely shifted my mental attitude from the sadness and overwhelm I feel about Chilly’s situation, etc. to a much more hopeful place. It reminded me of my abundance and good fortune (and I don’t mean that in the material sense.)

I couldn’t have watched it at a better time in my life. Thank you, Chilly, for listening….Thank you, God, for your impeccable timing (as usual!)

Playing Hooker and Getting the Boom Boom Pow

I’ve been playing hooky from the world (and from blogging) with my kids this week. We are officially done with our school year! Hooray! Since we’ve all been through a lot with Chilly and his health stuff the last few months (not to mention all of the other stinky mojo), I decided it was time for me to spend some quality time just hanging out with my two offspring with no distractions. It can be pretty overwhelming for the kiddos watching their dad deal with his diabetes and heart condition. We just need some “down” time to chillax.

My kids kept asking me if I was going to get in trouble because I wasn’t blogging. Apparently, they have been tipped off about some sort of bloggy police force that may write me a ticket for non-blogging. I assured them it would be fine and that we were just going to play hooky for a few days. Later that same day, a cashier at Target asked Cat what she’d been doing for the day. She smiled at her and said, “I’ve been playing hooker with my mom.” That was a lovely moment. The cashier just looked at me and I could hear her thinking “ain’t no way I’d pay money for you, lady…” Niiiiicccceeee…..

Which got me to thinking that I am waaaayyy over due for a makeover. I have a confession to make….I haven’t had a haircut for over a year now….color…forget about it! My roots are dark with curly gray tendrils sticking up all over. I look like a hag. This weekend, I am getting a cut, color, manicure and pedicure. I am tired of looking tired….so I am going to rock a new look, and then the cashier at Target will realize she could never afford me if I really were a hooker! Snap!

Tween Caveboy finally bit the bullet and whacked off his long locks yesterday! Can I hear a “whoop-whoop”!? Actually, I thought his long hair looked pretty cool, but the desert heat finally proved to be too much for him. Chilly, I know you are still celebrating over this.

Speaking of the nerdanderthal, last night he missed the finale of American Idol for the first time since the show began. He went to pick up our son from a church youth group meeting that ended at 9:00 pm. I actually had to give him the play by play over the phone. When they announced Kris as the winner, I blew out Chilly’s eardrums with my screaming….it went something like this…”OHMYGODKRISALLENJUSTWON!HEWONHEWONHEWON!!!” and more really loud screaming after that. Don’t get me wrong..I thought Adam rocked the house…the guy has an incredible set of pipes! I just know that Adam has a superstar career ahead of him no matter what happened last night. I am really delighted that Kris won!

Chilly entertained us throughout the show with his Adam Lambert rocker scream singing….I did my best Fergie moves and impression while “Boom Boom Pow” was performed by the Black Eyed Peas….Catherine went crazy playing air guitar when KISS was jamming “Detroit Rock City.” She was jumping around like a crazy person so much that I kept screaming “Watch your feet! Don’t hurt your feet! You have a dance competition in two weeks! Stop it with the feet!” Sad, isn’t it? I’ve become one of those psycho dance moms….She paid me no attention however and just kept on rockin’ the air guitar. I just sighed and got back to playing my air drums….

Thank you to everyone who emailed me about my absence:) That really made me feel all warm fuzzy! Hugs and smoochies all around!

Wishing you all a very peaceful Thursday!

Thankful Thursday aka You Can Have Another Entry in the Monster Giveaway!

Hi! Comments are now closed for this post so we can prepare them for the drawing in the Monster Giveaway! Thank you for participating!

Even though the last two days were a gigantic suck-o-rama, I realized I have so much for which I’m thankful!

I am thankful that Tuesday night after the Suckfest began, Chilly took us to McDonalds for dinner so I wouldn’t have to drag myself into the kitchen in the midst of my despair. I am grateful that during the dinner conversation, the word “Automatic” came up so that Chilly and I could then say…”It’s systematic…..It’s Hyyyy-dro-matic….Why! It’s Greased Lightin’!!!” And then we broke into the whole song and dance right in the middle of McD’s. Again, my kids were completely mortified…mission accomplished!

I am grateful that she didn’t show up in my bathroom this morning….(for you newbies, go here if you hate PMS…)
I am thankful that I live 40 miles from Nogales, Mexico because there have been sightings of the Chupacabra down there…{{{shudder}}}….I know this because my son made me watch “Animal Planet’s Lost Tapes” and they said so….

I am grateful for YIKES Toy Store in Tucson because they have fantabulous toys and gifts. (Remember those Kissy Bandaids? They came from YIKES!) If you’re ever in Tucson, go check them out!

I am thankful for Obnoxious SAHM for including me in her Sunday Spotlight! Go read her awesome blog!!! She just started a fabulous Mom’s group…go over and check it out! I am a proud member!!!

I am grateful for the Blonde Duck for sharing this awesome award with me! Go visit her too! If you like pie, delightful stories and cute puppies, this is a must read blog! (Can you say S’more Pie???)

I am thankful for all of my fabulous bloggy friends, old and new, who have been so loving and supportive! You’re the best! If I haven’t formally introduced myself to you yet at your blog, I promise I will soon! Then you’ll probably want to change your blog address because of my relentless stalking!

I am grateful for Kristina P and her Snuggie wearin’ blog…She is a blog super hero! She makes me spit my coffee all over my monitor all the time…hey…maybe my laptop drowned! (just kiddin’!) My poor Precious is probably cold and lonely at the Geek hospital. I bet she’s dreaming of a Snuggie right now….sniffle sniffle…

I am thankful for Jamie over at Stampin Mom and her awesome Etsy shop! To celebrate more giveaway madness, I am offering another opportunity for an entry! Scooty on over to Jamie’s shop and come back and tell me what you like! Poof! Another entry!

I am thankful that you have all been so enthusiastic about my giveway, that I’ll will be hosting one on a monthly basis! Now they won’t have 20 prizes, but I’ll make sure they’re interesting!

If you haven’t entered the giveaway yet, go here!

Go get your gratitude on, my friends and enjoy your day!

Dawn (pretend it’s my fancy signature….)

p.s. I know some of you might be reading this on Wednesday! lol! I had to hijack my parent’s computer so I could post…I haven’t lost my mind completely! I really do know what day of the week it is! Hee hee hee! I will update the post date in the morning…

Thankful Thursday…Bitchville Edition

I am in a cranky mood this morning…beware….(and it’s not even “that time of the month.”) Hopefully, I can stop this crazy train to Bitchville with my “Thankful Thursday” post. Think I can do it? Hmmm…let’s give it a whirl…

I am thankful for this guy….

He made watching American Idol bearable for me last night. I LOVE David Cook…love to hear him sing and his eye candy-ness (yes, I just made that a word) is suh-weet!

I am thankful for Catherine’s six year old sense of humor…

“Mom, do you want to play “Blend-in” Bridge? (London Bridge)

“Are you guys watching “Pirates of Your Favorite Band” again? (Pirates of the Caribbean..hee hee)

“Bone yard looks full today, huh?” (as we were driving by a cemetery!)

I am thankful for Tween Caveboy’s newfound desire to keep his long shiny locks healthy and clean. I’m also thankful he’s become an amazing Zombie Killer.

(I hate flaming zombies…)

I am thankful for Rae Ann @ Critical Mass for tagging me to share 7 things you may not know about me. (hope you don’t need therapy after this…)

1. Balloons freak me out. I can’t be around them. My kids, however, enjoy using them as instruments of torture on me. (Don’t even try to make a balloon animal around me…I will go postal on you…It won’t be pretty…)

2. I think clowns are a menace to society.

3. I love pumpkins. (this may have something to do with the fact that I grew up in Circleville, OH…home of the world’s largest Pumpkin Festival…)

Baby Boos are my favorites!

(We sell lots of these at Black Crow Boutique! They come in orange too!)

4. Because I live in a rural community, my wireless high speed internet is limited to 5 gb per month. This has put a HUGE damper on my stalking abilities. I cannot even tell you how much grieving I’ve been doing this past week over not being able to visit ya’ll daily. It’s like a knife in my heart…

5. I LOVE Halloween! (I even own a Halloween shop, Black Crow Boutique! I will tell you all about it very soon…some of the giveaway items are from my shop…)

6. I used to play tag in graveyards with my cousins and friends. Creepy, but fun!
7. I love to watch Ghost Hunters with the Tween Caveboy.

If you want this meme, grab it and enjoy!

I am grateful for Debra at Well Behaved Women Rarely Make History & Ashley Amazing for sharing this awesome award with me!

Thank you, ladies! You know I love you! I suck with a capital S at giving out awards, so everyone who reads this today, please share in my love and post this on your blog!

I am grateful for Noah’s Mommy at Project Mommyhood for including me in her 10 Blog Reads! That rocks my socks off!

I am grateful to Misadventurous Mommy and her giveway that I won! Woo Hoo! (very special to me because of Chilly’s heart situation!)

I am grateful to all of you for reading this cranky post of mine!

I hope you will come and visit me on Monday for my 100th post so I can show you how grateful I am!!! (here’s a linky to check out some of the goodies I will be giving away!)

p.s. My frown is now upside down:)
